AI Gen / Depthcore / Metalheart / Trendwhore I don't know if AI generated images are good or bad, but it is provocative and that's good enough for me. Part of me thinks of it as an extension of the paintbrush. Just imagine instead of paint, you have all the images that have been included in the training data as your pigment. The paintbrush becomes the words, the seeds, the variables that can be tweaked. I think until any layman can generate output exactly what they envision from a user generated prompt that's indistinguishable from genuine human creation, it's not really a problem. We're not there yet. But we might be close.
Still, in the meantime, a lot of output is useless, or needs heavy editing to refine the vision. That's manual work. Hell, I might even start vectoring over AI output, or airbrushing stuff eventually. But right now, the level of technology is somewhat nascent.
I don't mind documenting the output... even stuff from a year ago looks... chaotic... a ghost of a machine. Almost a nostalgia is already felt when I look at early stable diffusion output.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
